Biosero plays a vital role in the health and well-being of people worldwide. To operate at such a world-class level requires a world-class team and a collaborative work environment.
For the second year in a row, Biosero placed in the Top 50 Best Places to Work by the San Diego Business Journal because of the company’s commitment to nurturing a positive corporate culture and work environment, as well as engaging its team members.
The Best Places to Work in San Diego is a survey and awards program dedicated to identifying and recognizing the area’s best employers and providing organizations with valuable employee feedback. Each year, winners are selected based on the Employee Engagement & Satisfaction Survey(EESS). In this in-depth survey, company employees provide feedback on corporate culture, engagement, role satisfaction and various other factors.
According to the Employee Engagement & Satisfaction Survey results for Biosero, the company fosters a work environment where they feel valued, satisfied and engaged. “Biosero provides a purpose beyond a paycheck,” says one Biosero team member.
Corporate Culture
A company’s values are the core of its culture. At Biosero, team members are treated with respect and encouraged to provide feedback and share new ideas continuously. The organization takes input from each team member before hiring someone new. Current team members have the opportunity to ask the candidate questions and vote to select candidates with the highest potential for job success. The company team members have a major voice in the hiring process.
At Biosero, the team has fun at work. Beach days, company-paid trips and barbecues are frequent at the company. According to the survey, 100% of employees say they:
- Have fun at work
- Like the people they work with
- Believe there is a spirit of cooperation
Engagement
Employee engagement is the emotional commitment the employee has to the organization and its goals. [1] Based on the Employee Engagement & Satisfaction Survey, our team members look forward to going to work and achieving the company’s goals.
Biosero creates an engaged workplace culture that encourages team members to do their best and gives them the authority to make decisions without micromanaging them.
According to one team member, “The culture is ‘TEAM,’ and everyone is informed of critical discussions as the company continues to move forward in its development path.”
Biosero earned an overall engagement score of 92 out of 100. Within the engagement portion of the survey, 94% of employees at Biosero agree:
- They are proud to work for this organization
- The organization has created an environment where they can do their best work
- They are overall very satisfied with Biosero as their employer
Team members perform their best in Biosero’s open, cooperative environment.
Work Environment
As the company expands, it rewards team members and creates a transparent work environment. This year, a committee formed to discuss topics critical to team members, which are then addressed directly by Tom Gilman, Biosero’s CEO.
To promote a healthy lifestyle, the company purchased an onsite gym so team members could work out safely during the pandemic. Biosero holds friendly contests such as crazy hair day or best Zoom background to build a thriving remote work culture and deepen relationships across the team.
The company provides weekly lunches and breakfasts during busy times of the year to help those who need to work early or late. Biosero also has a foosball and ping pong table in the community break room to boost team morale and encourage friendly competition. The organization ensures the work environment is safe, comfortable and appealing to work in.
