Biosero, Inc. is a fast-paced and rapidly growing company focused on Life Science automation. This role will help with the design and implementation of Biosero’s award-winning Green Button Go® software. Biosero implements laboratory automation workflows primarily focused upon biological research, pharmacological research, and clinical diagnostics. A prior history of being an end-user of automation systems and a good understanding of laboratory automation processes logistics is essential. Familiarity with scripting and liquid handlers in a laboratory environment will be highly beneficial. As a Field Applications Scientist, you will work primarily with the customers, prospects, and Sales Account Managers to identify the workflow requirements, design automation solutions, and demonstrate Biosero Green Button Go scheduling software. Foundational knowledge of all types of laboratory instrumentation and the ability to make technology recommendations is necessary. Workflow development in Green Button Go software is required, and there are growth opportunities to contribute to software development. Responsibilities

This position is critical to continuing our dominance in our key market. Preference will be given to applicants with an established history of being an end-user of automation systems with familiarity using scripting languages. Past roles in research laboratories using liquid handlers will also be beneficial. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with cursory knowledge about laboratory automation and laboratory instrumentation used in automated workflows and:

  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Travel with and support Sales Account Managers, identifying customer requirements, generating statements of work, mitigating risks, and assisting with solution implementation
  • Ensure a thorough awareness and understanding of all Biosero product and service offerings
  • Develop Green Button Go workflow methods as needed for new and existing automation systems
  • Provide customer training and support on Green Button Go scheduling software
  • Contribute to the generation of presentations, posters, white papers, marketing product datasheets, and other documentation
  • Work with management on improving the Biosero brand when applicable
  • Contribute to the overall success of Biosero via collaborating with product management and assist in the continued improvement of Biosero software products through feedback
  • Develop customer rapport to impart a culture of partnership and confidence in Biosero automated solutions
  • Maintain effective cross-team communications (sales/service/engineering/marketing/management) to ensure technical & scientific support regarding customer expectations and actual company deliverables

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following skillset:

  • A minimum of a BS/MS in Life Science, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related subject, with 3 to 5 years of practical hands-on laboratory experience
  • Past experience with laboratory automation/instrumentation and scheduling software
  • Proactive in maintaining an awareness of current and emerging technologies/trends in the life sciences research sector
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a determination to find win-win solutions
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills with an emphasis on ability to present effectively to a diverse audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong team player
  • Ability to perform live software demonstrations
  • Ability to work independently, set goals and achieve them
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with a mind for responsibility and accountability
  • Experience with scripting languages preferred — C#, JavaScript, Python, or Visual Basic
  • Proactive in maintaining an awareness of current and emerging technologies and trends in the life sciences research sector
  • Software skills – Microsoft Teams environment, Powerpoint, Excel, Word
  • An absolute passion for robotics, software, and improving the world through automation
